BECOME A COACH

The volunteer coach role is fundamental to the development of players, coaches, pathways in sport and of the game of basketball in Australia.

Whether you are coaching a team of beginners who are just learning to love the sport, a school, club or representative team or even an NBL1 North team, we hope you enjoy coaching Everyone’s Game.

Basketball Queensland (BQ), in partnership with our Associations and Clubs, host a number of coaching accreditation courses and events throughout the year.

Registration and accreditation are the first step to help guide & develop your own growth as a coach and to better assist your players coaching experience.

• Clippers and SC Phoenix run a number of coaching courses throughout the year
• We encourage all our volunteer coaches to engage in the online learning which includes the Community Coaching General Principles (level 0) certificate which you can find on the Basketball Queensland Coaching Accreditation levels and courses page. Click here to go to the page.
• To complete any BQ coaching level and course you will need to download the BQ Coaches App. Download the BQ Coaches App below.
• Once registered as a coach you are a member of Basketball Queensland coach community through the BQ Coaches App. Get quick access to drills, videos and documents, keep track of your Accreditation and download coaching certificates, and book into upcoming courses and clinics.
